The Gerrards Cross Fun Run 2014

Grand Total: £27,323.76

Handing over the cheque to HomeStart

Welcome to the Fun Run website!

The Gerrards Cross Fun Run is a biennial event which, over the past 13 years, has grown to become the town's biggest community fund raising event.

The Fun Run aims to provide an opportunity for local families to have a great day out on the Gerrards Cross Common while raising money for worthwhile local charities that work primarily with families and young people. To date, the Fun Run has raised over £242,000 for a variety of good causes.

We are pleased to announce that this year's event will once again be supporting Kids In Sport. We also welcome Home-Start (Slough), new to the Fun Run for 2014.

Kids In Sport raise money to benefit those children and young people who might otherwise not be able to participate in regular sport; be it through physical, financial or similar difficulties. Home-Start supports parents in best providing for their children while overcoming illness, disability, emotional and other practical complications.

We encourage you to click here and read about these charities.

The Race

Just like every year the race will consist of a 5km course around the East Common and nearby residential streets of Gerrards Cross. It will be open to 1500 runners, from the serious competitor to the enthusiastic plodder, the individual runner to the office team, the 8 year old to the 108 year old!

This year our children's races return to the Common and are open to anyone aged between 4 and 9 years old.

The race is surrounded by a day of activities and attractions on East Common. Plans are well under way for an exciting variety of supporting entertainment and a mouth-watering range of food and beverages which you can read more about on The Big Day page.
